With a New Year comes...a new ATTITUDE!

Whoa! Holy attitude Batman! What happened to our gentle, sweet, loving child? I believe someone thought it would be a funny joke to switch him over the holidays with this rude, ungrateful little booger. Not cool. Not cool at all. He has pitched more fits in the last couple of weeks than ever before. It's so out of character for him. I've tried pin pointing the evil villain behind this major attitude & the only thing I can figure is that it has to be coming from some of the his classmates. One in particular I believe. I have no idea how to stop this. Trust me, we've been trying. Something has got to give. He fights us hardcore about going to bed, brushing his teeth, getting dressed, even about what we are having for dinner & you would think the world was coming to an end if you saw how he acts when it's time to turn off the TV or the Wii. Total meltdown. I may seriously be gray headed way before my time if this continues. I'm hoping that this is just another phase & that it will run it's course very quickly. We really miss our sweet little buddy. As well as our sanity! So, to whomever thought it would be a funny little joke to do the ol' switch-a-roo with our precious child over the holidays...ha ha..not funny! Now, return our boy! NOW!

Our Little-BIG Man

You are now amazing us more than ever before. Some of the things you do or say shocks us. I just cannot believe that our little man is such a big boy these days. You now completely dress yourself in the mornings then rush to the bathroom to brush your teeth & spit out the tooth paste like Daddy does :) You're a mess! We love you more than we ever thought possible. You remind us every day of the joy you continue to bring us. You are so very smart too. You love counting, in fact you find it necessary to count just about anything & everything. You have become pretty fascinated with time as well. Always asking, "What time is it?" You still have a little trouble with days though, you like to refer to everything in the past as last year instead of yesterday, last week, ect. Which we of course find pretty adorable! We haven't had too many late nights due to your feet hurting lately & I pray we don't ever again. There for a while we were up with them hurting just about every night & the entire night for the most part. It really kills us to see you hurting like that. Pretty sure you are hitting a growth spurt though, you've been taking in way more food than I would think that little body could hold! You are still one skinny little thing, but getting taller everyday. Just a couple weeks ago when we had our first cool morning I went to put a pair of blue jeans on you (your only pair actually) & they were about 2 inches too short! We decided a trip to the Mall was in need :) You are one special little boy Drake Allen & Mommy & Daddy sure do love you....actually, I love you to the moon & back buddy :) You are my very best friend!

What a journey it has been...

I have been reminiscing today more than normal. I don't know if it's due to Drake edging closer to turning 4 or the fact that all of a sudden he has become extremely independent. It's like over night he has transformed into this little BOY & there is suddenly no trace of our baby left. It is truly bittersweet. He has shot up in height recently too. Clothes that fit in length just a couple weeks ago are now extremely too short, this morning he told me that his shoes were starting to hurt his feet. I'm starting to think someone's sleeping him something to make him grow quicker or something. Man oh man, my baby is growing up.

He has requested that his Birthday party be at Playworld Down Under for the 3rd year in a row, which is just fine by us. The kids love it & it's cheap! This year he wants a "Engine Turtle" (aka Ninja Turtle) Birthday. :) And, since Halloween is only 3 days prior to his Birthday I bet you can guess what he wants to dress up as this year...yep, how did you know :) Engine Turtles all around! Now I guess I better get busy searching for the perfect Engine Turtle cake....
